Lois I (Girard) Roberson passed away peacefully in Colorado Springs on January 9, 2010 after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Saturday, January 30 at the La Junta Catholic Parish in La Junta, Colo. Lois was born in La Junta, Colorado to Harry Girard and Ethyl (Rookstool) Girard April 4, 1926. She married Thomas W. LeRoy and raised four children, Mike, Sheila, Vicky, and Pat. Lois was a full time working mother who still found time to be involved in her children’s activities, sewing costumes, helping with dance classes and supporting her children’s activities.
In 1977, she married Stanley H. Roberson. She was active in her churches. She was a humble, hardworking, and compassionate lady. Her positive attitude and joyful nature always shined through especially in life’s hardest moments. Lois always had a big smile on her face and always put others needs before her own.
Survivors include her husband Stan, children Michael (Sharon) LeRoy, Sheila (John) Whelan of Colorado Springs, Vicky (Dr. Phil) Pollock of Sterling, Colo. Grandchildren, Heather Loflin-Miller (Andy) of Bayfield, Colo., Travis LeRoy of Firestone, Colo., Ryan Loflin and wife Dr. Laura Ramos of Crested Butte, Colo., Jason (Kristie) of Tyler, Tx, Jared (Carmen) Pollock, and Patrick Pollock of Fort Collins, Colo. Great-grandchildren Dylan and McKenzie LeRoy, Taylor and Lily Pollock, and Eva and Liam Loflin. Stepdaughters Terri Wekseth of Selma, CA, Patty Bradeen of Canon City.
Lois was predeceased by her parents Mary Ethyl, Harry and Ruby Girard, son Pat LeRoy, brothers Harry Jr. and Dr. Dean Girard, former husband Tom LeRoy and stepson Sandy Roberson.
A heartfelt thank you is extended from Lois’ family to all of the kind, compassionate staff in Skilled Nursing at Village at Skyline, Pikes Peak Hospice, and Dr. Rusky for excellent care of our beloved mother.
