Joseph Martin Span, 51, of Sterling, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Sterling. A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Lodgepole Valley Youth Camp in Sidney, Neb.
Mr. Span was born on July 1, 1958, in Boulder to James and Emma (Travis) Span. He graduated from Central Community College and WNCC in Sidney. He was a mechanic for Milestone Ready Mix in Sidney most of his life.
He married Terry Bradshaw on Feb. 15, 1984, in Holyoke. They were married for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Terry; daughter, Randi Jo Gabel of Scottsbluff, Neb.; sons, Joshua Martin Span of Scottsbluff and Justin LeRoy; sister, Deb Anderson and family of Julesburg; brother, Tom Span and wife Tina of Chappell, Neb.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma; and sister, Cynthia Span-Enos.
