Eugene “Red” L. Wightman, 50, of Sterling, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, in Sterling. A memorial service was held on Sunday, Jan. 3.
Mr. Wightman was born on Oct. 20, 1959 in Torrington, Wyo., to George Harold and Mary Ellen (Field) Wightman. He graduated from Minatare High School in Minatare, Neb.
He was a landscaper and had never been married. He was a state wrestling champ in the ninth grade and loved the Broncos and motorcycles.
He is survived by his mother, Mary of Scottsbluff; sisters, Joanne Herman and husband Roc of Kimball, Cathy Marquez and husband Joe of Sterling, Norma Jean Parsons and husband Les of Minneapolis, Eileen Ireland and husband Kevin of Bradfor, Maine, Wilma Richard and husband Dusty of Plattsmouth, Neb., and Nancy Mcclure of Mitchell, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Harold Wightman.
