Elsie Fern Eastburn, 94, of Julesburg, CO passed away January 1, 2010 in Julesburg. Visitation will be 10AM to 6PM Thursday January 7, 2010 at Austin-Tennant Funeral Home in Julesburg. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday January 8, 2010 at the United Methodist Church of Julesburg with Pastor Kristie Firme officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at 1 PM in the Ogallala Cemetery.

Elsie was born January 14, 1915 to Robert R. Deist and Bessie M. Kelley Deist in Lewellyn, Nebraska. She was wife to David Claude Eastburn. They had a farm just out side of Julesburg from 1932-1946 after which they moved into town. Elsie was mother to Raymond Douglas Eastburn, Roland Parker Eastburn, and Phyllis Elaine Eastburn Reerink. All her children graduated from Sedgwick County High School. She was sister to Luella M., Howard R., Bernard F., William A., and Rudolf K. All are together in the arms of their Heavenly Father. She was also a Great-Great-Grandma and Aunt to many.

Elsie and Claude traveled together to Hawaii, Alaska, Germany, and England by way of France and Belgium, later she also visited Costa Rica. She loved to visit with family and friends and a get together to play cards was always welcome.

Elsie spent many hours at the Julesburg United Methodist Church, baking pies and making quilts with ladies of the church. She retired from the local dry cleaners where she was a seamstress. Her family and her Savior were always close to her heart. We will miss her sorely. Memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church 520 Maple St Julesburg, CO 80737 or the Sedgwick County Nursing Home 900 Cedar St. Julesburg, CO 80737. Austin-Tennant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
